Read Across America Week is Coming to Wheelersburg Elementary

📚🏴‍☠️ Read Across America Week is Coming to Wheelersburg Elementary! 🏴‍☠️📚

We are excited to celebrate Read Across America Week from Monday, March 2 – Friday, March 6, 2026! Each day we will spotlight a different children’s author and have some fun dress-up opportunities to celebrate the joy of reading!

Here’s our plan for the week:

📖 Monday (March 2) – Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney
➡️ Wear your pajamas (no slippers, please)!

📖 Tuesday (March 3) – The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle
➡️ Wear camouflage!

📖 Wednesday (March 4) – Oh, the Places You'll Go! by Dr. Seuss
➡️ Wear a shirt from a place you’ve been or want to visit!

📖 Thursday (March 5) – Maybe You Should Fly a Jet! Maybe You Should Be a Vet! by Dr. Seuss
➡️ Dress as your future profession!

📖 Friday (March 6) – How I Became a Pirate by Melinda Long
➡️ Dress like a pirate or wear your Pirate spirit gear!

We can’t wait to see our students and staff celebrate reading all week long! Thank you to our Pirate families for supporting literacy and helping make this a fun and memorable week.

Let’s celebrate the power of books and continue to build a love of reading! 📚🧡🖤
